What it's really about: now is the time to cut the extra threads back into the past. Not heroically "burning bridges," but honestly looking at what unreal thing you're dragging behind you. Relationships that have been empty for a long time. Grudges you guard like they're valuable. Roles you don't recognize yourself in anymore. While that's hanging there, the new can't come in — it has nowhere to stand.

The hard part: the card speaks plainly about honesty. Don't take what isn't yours. Don't lie to yourself that you don't care when you do. Otherwise you pick a road you'll have to clean up after yourself.

What to do today: say one sentence to yourself and actually feel it — "I let go of what holds me back from happiness." Then one small action in that direction. Not writing. Throwing out. Not starting. One thing.
