“Being in Flow” — card from the “Messages of God” deck · Nikola Blajen 🔍 📌 Save to Pinterest

Today's card is "Being in the Flow." Nice title, almost like an ad slogan — and that's the first trap: the urge to write something like "trust the universe, it'll all work out." It won't work out on its own. Flow isn't about being carried along while you doze off at the wheel. I've ridden a bike downhill in Bali more than once, and it's the exact same thing — grip the brake the whole way down out of fear, and you wobble and end up in the ditch. Let go at the right moment, trust the speed, and suddenly everything's clear — your body already knows where to steer, thinking is too slow and not needed anymore. That's flow. Not relaxation. Letting go while fully switched on.

The honest hard part isn't where it looks like it is. It looks like fear of change is what's stopping you. What's actually stopping you is what you're carrying down that slope with you — an old grudge, a point you proved once and won't let go of, a debt you charged someone years ago and never closed out. You can't enter the flow with that weight — it's heavy, it pulls you toward braking, checking behind you, double-checking everything. And this is where most people get it backwards: they go looking for power outside — in signs, in someone else's energy, in talk about magic — instead of admitting honestly that the power sits in the exact same place as the weight. Inside. Let go of a grudge, and you free up exactly as much space as it was taking up. No miracle, just plain mechanics.

Something concrete for today, no dressing it up: think of one grudge you've been hauling around for longer than a month, and tell yourself plainly, out loud, that you won't hold onto it until evening. Not "forgive and let go forever" — that's a lie I don't buy from myself either. Just take your hand off the brake in that one spot, for one day. See what opens up. The flow isn't asking permission — it's already moving. The only question is whether you're riding in it or digging your heels into the asphalt.

"Let go of the brake — and you'll see the road was already leading you the whole time."
