Today the card that came up is The Mystery of the Lord. First thing I'll say honestly — I don't actually know what God is, in the way people paint him: beard, throne, a clear return address. Maybe there's no one there in that shape at all — just one enormous mystery holding all of this up, filtering our intentions like a sieve, in no hurry to explain itself to anyone. I was angry at that uncertainty for a long time — I wanted a specific someone to pray to, to thank. Never got one. What I got instead was this: the power built into this card doesn't work because you believe in it — it works because you actually get up and act.

Here's the hard part. Somewhere inside, every one of us keeps a list of debtors — life owes me, God owes me, the universe owes me for trying hard and being patient. I lived like that myself for years — waiting for someone up there to notice my effort and deliver the result straight to my door. Nobody delivered. And here's the thing — it turned out that this frees you, it doesn't crush you. No one owes you anything. Not one person, not one force, not the universe itself. The moment I accepted that — not as a sentence, just as a fact — it got easier to act, because I stopped waiting for permission or a reward before I'd even moved.

What to do today, concretely: that one thing you keep putting off because "first let a sign come" — do it without the sign. Right now, honestly, decisively — with no guarantee it works on the first try. The mystery doesn't open to whoever waits. It opens to whoever's already moving. Let go of expecting someone to show up and sort it all out for you, and just walk.
