Today's card is "Prostration." Sounds simple on paper — you stand, raise your arms, then lower yourself belly-down on the floor, arms stretched forward, forehead touching the ground. Feels ridiculous if you've never done it. But through the body you're trying to say what the tongue usually can't — I'm sorry, thank you, I remember. This card isn't about a pretty ritual for show. It's about something almost everyone carries for years and tries never to touch: a tab still open with your own bloodline. With a father, a mother, someone already gone while the resentment stays warm, as if they only stepped out of the room a minute ago. I know this one myself — dragging someone else's pain through your life like it's your own, staying angry at a person who hasn't been near you in years, sometimes not even alive anymore. It's an uncomfortable card. It doesn't promise anything, and nothing gets lighter right away.
Here's the hard part: bowing doesn't mean excusing. I used to confuse the two for a long time — waiting for the forgiveness to land inside first, thinking only then could I lower myself. Turned out to work backwards — the body goes first, the heart follows after. Not an hour-long heart-to-heart, but a plain physical motion, repeated many times in a row, done before the mind has a chance to switch on and start litigating who was right, who was wrong, who owes whom more. It's easy to fake this — bow just to check the box, feel nothing, and tell yourself you handled it. That doesn't work. It only works when you say the person's name out loud and tell them exactly what you should have said long ago — even if they're not there in the flesh, and never will be again.
What to do today: don't wait for the right mood or a quiet house — that day isn't coming. Find five minutes, stand up, picture one specific person from your line — someone you're still not at peace with inside — and do at least a few bows, saying plain words out loud or silently: I forgive you, forgive me, thank you. You don't need a hundred and eight right away, you don't need it clean or graceful. You need it honest, once. I've felt this myself — after this practice, something that had felt like an immovable stone for years starts to shift. Not instantly, but for real. Start today, not "when it's more convenient" — it won't get more convenient, only heavier to carry.
"Bow to your bloodline — and stop carrying what could've been set down long ago."
