This card reveals the mystery of darkness that sometimes seeps into human life, like an invisible shadow settling over the soul. It comes as a warning that you may be carrying someone else's energy, having unknowingly let it into your space.

Perhaps you feel that something has gone wrong: your strength is fading, your thoughts have grown heavy, life feels like an endless fall, and it seems as though your luck has abandoned you. A shadow can result from others' influence, envy, ill intent, a curse, or from your own unprocessed emotions or weakness of spirit.

There are moments when something foreign feels near, as if someone or something is watching you, steering your actions, stealing the joy from your life. Sometimes this shows itself in dark dreams, in the sense that you are not alone even in solitude, or in a loss of energy around certain people.

But darkness, however strong it may be, is not all-powerful. It can be driven out.

You can restore balance, if you are willing to work on yourself, to cleanse your mind and your heart. Freeing yourself takes time, and sometimes the courage to admit you've come under influence.
