“Art of the Master” — card from the “Messages of God” deck · Nikola Blajen 🔍 📌 Save to Pinterest

Mastery is not merely a skill; it is a state that arrives when you give yourself fully to your work, becoming a channel for energy, for an idea, or for meaning. The Art of the Master card speaks to the truth that two facets live within each of us: the person, and the master.

The person is you, with all your feelings, weaknesses, joys, and sorrows. This is the one who wants to love, laugh, cry, be vulnerable, or simply enjoy the moment.

The master is you, when you are focused, when you work, create, help others, negotiate, or even cook dinner. The master shows itself when you take responsibility for a task, for the flow passing through you.

But there is an important balance here: the master must not overshadow the person. Imagine a pilot who, upon leaving the cockpit, continues acting like a pilot when speaking with family or friends.

Or a doctor who brings home their medical diagnoses. If mastery is not left at the threshold of life, it will begin to displace your personality, filling your life with a single, narrow meaning.

The master lives within the moment of action, of creation. But once the action is complete, mastery must give way to simple human being.

This matters not only for preserving your inner harmony, but so that your work, your help, your energy remain sincere and real. This card reminds you that being a master is a gift, but also a responsibility.

You are not a master all the time. You are a master in the moment it's needed.

The rest of the time, you are simply human. This lets you avoid burning out, lets you preserve yourself, and keeps you from carrying your personal experiences, fears, or weaknesses into your professional work.

If this card has come to you, consider: where are you a master, and where are you simply human? How do you separate these roles?

Perhaps you've become too absorbed in one of them? Remember, life is a balance.

And your strength lies in being in harmony with yourself. Be a master in what you love, in what you do.

But don't forget to be human. Mastery is part of you, but not the whole of your being.

Find the balance, and your life will become whole and many-sided.
