Shame. This feeling is familiar to everyone, but how often do we let it govern us?
Shame is not a vice, but simply an emotion, like so many others. It arises when we make mistakes, or say something other than what we meant.
Sometimes we feel ashamed of words we've spoken, of deeds we've done, or of a truth we chose to voice. But isn't this emotion normal?
There's no need to hide from it, for shame reminds us that we are alive, that we are not perfect, that we are learning and growing. Sometimes shame comes when we speak a truth that might hurt others.
And then a question arises: "Should I feel ashamed of this?" But is it truly shameful to speak the truth? We fear hurting someone, but it's important to remember: speaking the truth is not a mistake.
What matters is being honest with yourself and with others, and though this may cause pain, truth always cleanses the soul. Shame is a natural feeling; you can live with it.
It won't destroy you if you accept it as part of your path. Everyone feels ashamed at times, but it's important to learn to release it.
Admit it to yourself, let go of past mistakes, and don't let them pull you backward. When you forgive yourself, shame loses its power.
Forgive yourself for the moments you felt shame, and forgive others who may, at some point, have hurt you too. We all make mistakes.
What matters is that you recognize them, learn from them, and move forward, not hiding your feelings of shame, but accepting them as part of your experience. Shame does not make us worse; it reminds us that we strive to be better.
Acknowledging our mistakes is the path to cleansing. When you admit you were wrong, you free yourself of the burden.
Let this feeling leave you, and don't be afraid to be honest anymore. With every act of forgiveness, shame departs, and your soul grows lighter.
