Full Moon, August 28, 2026

🌕 Yesterday, August 28, was a full moon — and not an ordinary one. The Moon slid almost entirely into Earth's shadow: a deep partial eclipse, about 96% of the disk. In Europe and Russia it was visible low on the horizon at dawn. August's full moon is sometimes called the Sturgeon Moon, after the season when sturgeon were plentiful in North America. On days like this, many people notice the same things: lighter, more broken sleep, anxiety rising for no clear reason, more restlessness and irritability than usual, sharper emotions, more impulsive decisions. Science is genuinely divided on this — solid evidence for the Moon affecting sleep and mood is thin, but it's hard to fully dismiss when so many people describe the exact same thing on the exact same nights.

If today or tomorrow feels off for no clear reason, the reason isn't necessarily only you. It might be the sky. There's nothing to fight here — just notice it, and give yourself a bit more gentleness than usual. The next full moon is September 26. You can check today's moon phase and geomagnetic weather any time in the “Sky Today” section of the app.
