Today's card is "Deep Happiness." Let me be honest right away — I'm not talking about the happiness you get from a new phone or a nice comment under your photo. That kind lasts a day, maybe two, and then you need another hit. I chased that feeling myself for years — a new place, a new person, a new goal — and every single time I got there, I felt the same emptiness inside, just a little more tired than before. This card isn't about gifts life hands you. It's about the happiness that doesn't fade, because it doesn't come from outside — it moves from inside you outward, like light that simply can't help but shine.

Here's the hard part — almost nobody was taught to give without expecting anything back. We were taught to count: I did something, so I'm owed something; I smiled, so someone should smile back; I helped, so remember it, you'll return the favor later. I lived that way myself for a long time, if I'm honest — calculating who deserved my help and who didn't, like it was a bank account. Deep happiness starts exactly where you stop counting. You smile at a stranger on the street — and that's it, full stop, you expect nothing back. You say a kind word — and let it go. It's uncomfortable at first, because the ego wants a receipt. But right there, in that uncomfortable spot where you give and don't look back for a return, something inside you finally stops clenching. You don't get poorer from it. Strangely enough — you fill up.

So here's the one concrete thing for today: find one person — doesn't have to be someone close, a total stranger is fine — and give them something with zero thought about what you'll get in return. A word, a look, a minute of real attention, a hand with something. Don't wait for thanks. Just release it into the world and keep walking. I've tested this more times than I can count — it comes back, not from where you expect and not when you expect it, but it comes back, because that's how the world works: what flows through you doesn't run out — it grows.

"Make the world happier — and the depth of that happiness becomes your own."
